Asashoryu was refused entry to train at a rival stable on Monday because the stablemaster fundamentally disagrees with the Mongolian grand champion's sumo philosophy.
Stablemaster Tomozuna said there is a chasm between his thinking about sumo and the Takasago stable, which he feels has sullied the ancient sport due to the misconduct of Asashoryu in August.
"There is a difference between the way I think and the way the yokozuna conducts himself in terms of sumo training as well as the way of the Takasago stable," Tomozuna said.
It had been common for wrestlers to train at the respective stables before the incident involving Asashoryu in August, but Tomozuna notified sources close to the Takasago stable on Monday that all rikishi from the latter stable will be refused.
"The fact that he (Asashoryu) alone damaged the image of the sumo association is a big factor. There is a gap between us and that (Takasago) stable. They probably won't be coming here anymore," Tomozuna said.
Takasago said he had no comment as he had not yet heard directly from the Tomozuna stable.
