The Japan Football Association finalized the appointment of Takeshi Okada as national coach at an Executive Committee meeting on Friday.
Okada, 51, who takes over from stricken coach Ivica Osim, promised to do his utmost to guide Japan to the 2010 World Cup finals in his second stint as head coach after being unveiled at the JFA's headquarters.
