John "Helicopter" Humphrey scored 27 points and Cohey Aoki added 23 to lead the Tokyo Apache to a 96-80 win over the Saitama Broncos at Ariake Colosseum on Saturday.
Andrew Feeley led the Broncos with 27 points and Gordon James scored 23 and pulled down 14 rebounds.
In other bj-league action, the Osaka Evessa topped the host Toyama Grouses 85-73.
Matt Lottich had a team-best 24 points for the Evessa, Mikey Marshall and Kazuya Hatano had 19 apiece and Jeff Newton added 15.
Masayuki Kabaya had 23 points to lead the Grouses, who slipped to 0-8.
Elsewhere, the visiting Niigata Albirex BB defeated the Oita HeatDevils 91-84. Forward Rodney Webb (22 points) and Andrew Preston (21) paced the winners, while big man Andy Ellis had 37 for the HeatDevils.
The visiting Takamatsu Five Arrows beat the Ryukyu Golden Kings 90-80, getting 20 points from Reggie Warren, 16 from George Leach and 12 from Yu Okada. Kevin Steenberge scored a team-high 17 for the Golden Kings.
