The Tokyo Apache bounced back from a 31-point road loss on Sunday, defeating the Osaka Evessa 83-80 in the two-game series finale. Point guard Cohey Aoki scored a game-high 30 points to pace the Apache (4-2), while John "Helicopter" Humphrey scored 22 and Masashi Joho had eight. Dameion Baker contributed six points and 14 rebounds for Tokyo, which outscored Osaka 28-17 in the final period. Matt Lottich led the Evessa with 22 points and Kazuya Hatano and Jeff Newton added 17 apiece. Elsewhere, the Saitama Broncos beat the visiting Niigata Albirex BB 80-72, getting double-digit scoring from five players, including Gordon James (16 points) and Mamadou Diouf (14). Niigata's Matt Garrison, who won the 3-point contest at the bj-league's inaugural All-Star Game in January, had 30 points, including 12 from long range. The Takamatsu Five Arrows, meanwhile, defeated the Oita HeatDevils 103-99 to complete a series sweep. Five Arrows center George Leach scored 21 points, Yu Okada had 20 and Reggie Warren 17 in the win. HeatDevils forward Justin Allen scored a season-high 29 points and Andy Ellis poured in 26 in the loss.
