Hiroshima Carp right-hander Hiroki Kuroda filed for free agency Monday with a switch to the major leagues at the heart of interest for the ace rotation starter. "The fact that I filed for free agency will change nothing but there is no turning back now," Kuroda, who has made clear his wish to pursue a career in the majors, told reporters after submitting the necessary documents to the Carp office. Kuroda is now open to talks with any team, including in the major leagues, from Nov. 14.
