Softbank Hawks manager Sadaharu Oh is set to manage the Pacific League club for a 14th year as he had a season-end meeting with club owner Masayoshi Son at the Softbank Corp. head office Monday. But 2008 is expected to be the last season for Oh since he notified Softbank players of his plan to step down after one more season when the Hawks were eliminated from the first stage of the postseason Climax Series last Wednesday at the hands of the Lotte Marines. "I told the owner that we'll make no mistakes in getting a victory next year," Oh said. The Hawks have lost in the league playoffs for four consecutive years. "I would like Oh-san to have a good rest in the offseason and continue to be our manager in the years to come," said Son, who wants to have Oh in a Hawks uniform as long as his physical condition allows.
