Yokohama BayStars veteran left-hander Kimiyasu Kudo said Wednesday he will undergo endoscopic surgery on his pitching elbow in a Yokohama hospital next Tuesday. "I've decided to undergo endoscopic surgery so that I can throw hard from spring training. I'll be able to start throwing again in about two months," said the 44-year-old Kudo, who is treating osteoarthritis ahead of his 27th season next year. The oldest active player in Japanese baseball plans to start rehabilitation in Arizona as soon as he has his stitches removed. Kudo said he felt discomfort in his left elbow during his final preseason outing in March and has been unable to move it easily since around July. "I want to make fans think I'll be able to do much better next season," Kudo said. "I still have a dream of pitching in the major leagues someday, so I want to continue my challenge." Kudo posted a 7-6 record with a 3.91 ERA in 2007. He has a 222-135 career record with three saves and a 3.39 ERA.
