The Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters have tapped former Kintetsu Buffaloes manager Masataka Nashida to replace outgoing manager Trey Hillman, baseball sources said Tuesday.

Club executives held talks with Nashida in Tokyo on Monday and the 54-year-old has shown interest in accepting the offer, the sources said. "We'll make a final decision after our owner (Hiroji Okoso) meets him," said chief supervisor Toshimasa Shimada.
