Takahiro Saeki hit a grand slam and Kimiyasu Kudo threw eight innings of one-run ball as the Yokohama BayStars sent the Hanshin Tigers to their seventh consecutive loss with a 6-1 rout Wednesday.

Saeki connected off Ryan Vogelsong (7-6) to give Yokohama a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning before a Shuichi Murata solo shot and a Takuro Ishii RBI single made it 6-0 in the sixth at Yokohama Stadium.

Kudo (7-6) had a shutout until Tomoaki Kanemoto homered to start the seventh. The 44-year-old lefty held Hanshin to five hits with two walks to earn his 222nd career win.

Swallows 8, Carp 3

At Hiroshima Stadium, Hiroyasu Tanaka broke a 3-3 tie with a bases-loaded triple off Ryuji Yokoyama (3-3) in the top of the ninth inning, leading Yakult past the Carp.

Alex Ramirez went 3-for-5 with four RBIs, hitting a game-tying double in the eighth and a two-run homer to cap the five-run ninth.

Brian Sikorski (1-1) threw two scoreless innings. Central League batting leader Norichika Aoki hit his 20th home run of the season among his two hits for the Swallows.
