Orix jumped all over Lotte starter Naoyuki Shimizu, who was chased after allowing three runs and nine hits in 3 2/3 innings. Lotte took a 3-0 lead in the second, featuring Toshiaki Imae's two-run homer before Orix tied it in the fourth.

Chihiro Kaneko (5-2) allowed four runs — two unearned — in 5 1/3 innings for the win.
