OSAKA (Kyodo) Orix Buffaloes outfielder Tuffy Rhodes, who is in position to win his fifth home run title, was deactivated Wednesday because of a groin injury and will miss the rest of the season.
Rhodes said at Kyocera Dome he has been experiencing pain in his left groin since late August and has decided not to push himself during the remainder of the season in order to turn in his best possible performance next year.
