There are officially 2,003 athletes from 203 countries here for the nine-day extravaganza.
On the men's side, the United States has the biggest squad (83 athletes). Team Japan is next with 49 and Russia brought 41 to Kansai. Germany (36), Spain (33) and France (29) are the next biggest teams.
