SENDAI — A blast from the past showed up at Game 2 of the Gulliver All-Star Series at Fullcast Stadium Saturday afternoon, infusing a little more star power into the already star-studded event.
Former Hanshin Tigers great Randy Bass made an appearance at the game and prompted many of the All-Stars to go out of their way to get a little time with him. Bass and Nobohiku Mastunaka discussed the finer points of hitting, through a translator, in the dugout before the game and Greg LaRocca of the Orix Buffaloes was also among the players to chat with Bass.
Bass was a key figure on the Tigers' last Japan Series championship team in 1985.
