Qatar coach Dzemaludin Musovic has come out in support of his old boss Ivica Osim after the Bosnian labeled his Japan charges "a bunch of amateurs" after the draw between the two teams in their Asian Cup finals Group B opener.
Fellow Sarajevo native Musovic, Osim's assistant when he led Yugoslavia to the quarterfinals of the World Cup in 1990, said on Wednesday that the prickly coach's roasting — which reduced the Bosnian's translator to tears — was no surprise after Qatar snatched a last-gasp equalizer in Monday night's game.
"Osim's reaction was normal. Japan conceded a goal in the last minute and he must be angry," said Musovic, whose team takes on Vietnam in their second group match on Thursday evening.
