The Japan Sumo Association is working on a plan to hold an exhibition training tour of Mongolia for the first time, possibly in June or August next year, sources familiar with the move said Tuesday. Sumo elder Takekuma, a senior official in the association's training tour department, will head a group of JSA officials making a fact-finding trip to Mongolia from Thursday, they said. JSA chairman Kitanoumi admitted such a visit to Mongolia is in the works at a time when sumo wrestlers from the country have made outstanding progress in the national sport of Japan.
