Masahiro Tanaka threw seven effective innings and Yosuke Takasu drove in three runs Tuesday, leading the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles to a 10-6 win over the Yomiuri Giants.

Highly-touted rookie Tanaka (5-3) allowed four runs and six hits with three walks and seven strikeouts at Fullcast Stadium on the final day of interleague play.

Tohoku Rakuten went ahead 3-0 in the second inning against Hiroshi Kisanuki (6-3) on a two-run double by Motohiro Shima and an RBI single from Naoto Watanabe before Yoshinobu Takahashi pulled Yomiuri to 3-2 in the third with the first of his two homers of the night.

Takasu helped the Golden Eagles to a 10-4 lead by driving in runs with a double in the fifth, a single in the sixth and a groundout in the eighth.

BayStars 3, Fighters 2

At Yokohama Stadium, Tatsuhiko Kinjo singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as the BayStars edged Hokkaido Nippon Ham to extend their winning streak to a season-high six games.

Kinjo's two-out RBI single off Shintaro Ejiri (4-1) came an inning after Takuro Ishii hit a game-tying solo home run in the seventh.

BayStars get lefty

YOKOHAMA (Kyodo) The Yokohama BayStars have acquired left-hander Matt White, who was with the Los Angeles Dodgers' Triple-A Las Vegas this year, the Central League club said Tuesday.

White was given a 40 million yen contract, which includes a signing fee, and is scheduled to arrive in Japan on Sunday.
