New York Yankees manager Joe Torre said Saturday that rookie pitcher Tyler Clippard has been optioned to Triple-A Scranton, suggesting left-hander Kei Igawa will likely be brought up from the minor leagues. The former Hanshin Tiger star and first-year major league player, Igawa, who has been on assignment with Scranton, could start for the Yankees as early as next Saturday against the San Francisco Giants. Torre was not clear on whether Igawa would definitely get the promotion but said it appears likely.
