Abe put Yomiuri on the board in the first inning with the 200th grand slam in club history and gave the Central League front-runner the lead for good at 5-4 with his second homer of the night — a sixth-inning leadoff shot off Orix starter Yoshihisa Hirano (4-5).

Yoshinobu Takahashi capped the three-run inning with a two-out, two-run double. Abe, who went 4-for-5, added an RBI single in the seventh and Ryota Wakiya singled in a run in the ninth at Skymark Stadium.
