Newly-promoted Mongolian yokozuna Hakuho shot down compatriot and fellow grand champion Asashoryu in a championship playoff to win the overall title in an exhibition tour of Hawaii on Sunday. Hakuho, who lost to Asashoryu in Saturday's final, earned another crack at his mentor after taking out sekiwake Ama in the final in regulation at Honolulu's NBC Arena. Hakuho prevailed to clinch the title with a force-out win in the playoff. Asashoryu had lost in the third round of Sunday's competition to Georgian grappler Kokkai.
