Seguignol drove the first pitch from Shohei Tateyama (2-3) into the right-field seats in the sixth, making a winner of rookie left-hander Mitsuo Yoshikawa (1-0), who scattered seven hits and four walks over 5 2/3 innings in interleague play at Matsuyama stadium.
Nippon Ham reliever Takehiko Oshimoto retired pinch-hitter Ken Suzuki on a popout to escape a two-out, two-on jam in the sixth in 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Tateyama was charged with two runs and six hits in six innings.
