WEMBLEY, England (AP) Stephen Pearson's first goal for Derby gave the Rams a 1-0 playoff victory Monday over West Bromwich Albion and the third promotion spot into the Premier League.
Pearson scored in the 61st minute at Wembley for Derby to join Sunderland and Birmingham in moving up from the League Championship. The promotion is reportedly worth £60 million ($119 million) with a new Premier League TV deal coming into effect next season.
"I'm speechless. Just delighted to have got there in the end," said Pearson, who joined Derby from Celtic in January.
