It was 1955. I was 7 years old and living in northern New Jersey and just getting interested in baseball.
My father and I were fans of the Brooklyn Dodgers, and we used to watch their games, telecast by WOR-TV, Channel 9, on an old tube-and-chassis, black-and-white Zenith TV set.
