Injury plagued ozeki Tochiazuma, who withdrew from last month's Spring Grand Sumo Tournament due to high blood pressure and headaches, will likely miss the upcoming Summer Grand Sumo Tournament after being hospitalized for tests on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old Tochiazuma checked into a Tokyo hospital, mainly for precautionary tests for high blood pressure. "I will report the results of the tests once I know," Tochiazuma said ahead of the 15-day summer meet which gets underway on May 13 at Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan.

"We'll make an announcement after the Golden Week on May 7. It will be difficult for him to compete since he'll have to get down to serious pre-tournament training against other wrestlers," said father and stable elder Tamanoi.
