Kyodo News reported Wednesday that JBL Super League team OSG Phoenix intends to move to the league's opposing faction, the bj-league, for the 2008-09 season.
According to the report, the OSG owner is unsatisfied with the JBL's new professional league for not being a fully professional league. "I don't know what to say right now, because we've not received anything," Japan national team supervisor Yoshiaki Sugiura said.
"But a team that wants to be out (of the JBL), it needs to officially submit a notice of secession." Sugiura added that he personally does not believe the Phoenix players are willing to go to the bj-league, abandoning their high salaries. Takuya Kawamura, a 20-year-old OSG guard, is on the provisional national team right now.
