Nice major league debut for "Dice-K," eh?
A good portion of Japan's baseball lovers, yours truly included, set their alarm clocks for 3 a.m. on Friday to watch Daisuke Matsuzaka take the mound for the Boston Red Sox at Kansas City, and we were not disappointed.
His seven-inning stint during which he gave up one run and struck out 10 was impressive enough but, for me, the best part was seeing him display the poise and confidence that got him out of a couple of jams.
