CHIBA -- The Chiba Lotte Marines' pitching staff got off to a rough start during their loss to the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks Saturday. They didn't fare so well Sunday, either.
Naoyuki Shimizu hit a batter and gave up three runs on four hits in the first inning in the Marines' 8-4 loss. He lasted only 2 2/3 innings, giving up seven runs, four earned, on nine hits and a walk.
