The Tokyo Apache snapped an 11-game losing streak, beating the host Osaka Evessa 98-90 on Saturday. John "Helicopter" Humphrey lead Tokyo with 30 points, Dameion Baker added 20 and 15 boards and Kohei Aoki had 21 points. For Osaka, Lynn Washington and Matt Lottich had 19 points apiece.
In other bj-league games, the Takamatsu Five Arrows topped the visiting Oita HeatDevils 85-76. Center Julius Ashby had a team-high 26 points for the Five Arrows, while Andy Ellis led Oita with 28 and Kohei Mitomo had 20. The host Toyama Grouses defeated the Niigata Albirex BB 81-74. Jerod Ward had a game-best 29 points for Toyama. For Niigata, Nick Davis had 14 points and 23 boards and Jack Hartman scored 23. The Sendai 89ers beat the visiting Saitama Broncos 83-75, getting 30 points from Michael Chappell and 26 from Mamadou Diouf and seven assists from Hikaru Kusaka.
