Trailing 1-0 in the first inning, the Gifu Prefecture school wrapped out four hits in the bottom half to take the lead in second-round action at Koshien Stadium.

Takayuki Morita made a shaky start but settled down in a complete-game outing, allowing one run and eight hits.

In the day's other game, Yusuke Nomura fanned six in six strong innings as Hiroshima's Koryo beat Hokuyo of Osaka Prefecture 5-3.
