Niigata Albirex BB center Nick Davis helped his team reached the inaugural bj-league championship game last spring.
This year, his team, which lost the title game to the Osaka Evessa, is in the hunt for another shot at the title, and Davis is once again a major reason for the 24-14 Albirex's success. Davis is the Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week, the bj-league announced, after he helped his team to a weekend sweep over the visiting Toyama Grouses.
Davis had 11 points, 14 rebounds (seven offensive boards), two assists, two steals and two blocked shots in an 88-83 win on Saturday. He added 23 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in a 79-67 win a day later.
The Albirex, who are currently tied with the Takamatsu Five Arrows for second place, close out the regular season with a pair of weekend games at Toyama (12-26). The Five Arrows play host to the Oita HeatDevils (21-17).
