Ichiro Suzuki delivered three hits in a 3-for-4 outing with two RBIs while Kenji Johjima went hitless in the Seattle Mariners' 9-5 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in preseason action on Sunday.

Suzuki had two infield hits and singled to right while Johjima drew a walk and was hit by a pitch. Both players left the game in the sixth inning.

In other action, Tampa Bay Devil Rays infielder Akinori Iwamura had a single to left to hit safely in his third game in a row as part of a split squad in a 5-4 win against the Philadelphia Phillies.

New York Yankees outfielder Hideki Matsui had an RBI single to left in a 1-for-3 performance before being replaced for a pinch-runner in the fourth and the Yankees beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-1.

Yankees slugger Jason Giambi hit a grand slam with two outs in a seven-run uprising in the fourth. Elsewhere, Chicago White Sox infielder Tadahito Iguchi went 1-for-3, singling to center, and St. Louis Cardinals outfielder So Taguchi made an appearance as a defensive replacement in the ninth in a game against the New York Mets but did not get an at-bat.
