Pittsburgh Pirates non-roster invitee Masumi Kuwata pitched one scoreless inning and Tampa Bay Devil Rays third baseman Akinori Iwamura went 1-for-3 with a triple in spring training action Saturday.
Kuwata allowed one hit and a walk against the Minnesota Twins in his first outing since spraining his left ankle on March 9. Minnesota beat Pittsburgh 7-3.
Iwamura picked up his first triple of the spring and had an RBI grounder in going 1-for-3 as Tampa Bay lost 5-3 to the Cleveland Indians. In other action, Chicago White Sox second baseman Tadahito Iguchi went 1-for-4.
