Former Orix BlueWave manager Hiromichi Ishige stepped down as president of Shikoku Island League operating company IBLJ after the independent league failed to make a profit in its first two seasons.
IBLJ made the announcement Saturday saying the 50-year-old Ishige offered his resignation as the league has not met initial earnings projections since its 2005 inaugural season. Makoto Kagiyama, 39, has taken over the post.
