Striker Naohiro Takahara bagged his eighth league goal of the season against his former employer, but there was no upturn in Eintracht Frankfurt's fortunes as it went down 3-1 away to Hamburg SV in the German League on Saturday.

Hamburg appeared to be in control after Rafael van der Vaart had given it a seventh-minute lead, but Frankfurt equalized against the run of play in the 59th minute. Takahara beat Joris Mathijsen inside the box before sending the ball through goalkeeper Frank Rost's legs.
