Chunichi Dragons outfielder Kosuke Fukudome re-signed with the club on Thursday for an estimated annual salary of 385 million yen, up 115 million yen from 2006.

Fukudome put pen to paper at the team's spring training camp in the Okinawan village of Onna after Chunichi increased its initial offer by 5 million yen in the second round of offseason talks with the 2006 Central League MVP.

The 29-year-old Fukudome got the hefty pay raise after posting a league-leading .351 average for his second batting title with 31 homers and 104 RBIs in 130 games last season.

His 2007 salary is the second highest among Japanese players on the team, behind closer Hitoki Iwase's 390 million yen. But Fukudome moaned, "I am still not satisfied but I had to sign, otherwise I wouldn't be able to take to the field." Iwase was 2-2 with a league-leading 40 saves and a 1.30 ERA in 56 games last season.
