Japan midfielder Tsukasa Umesaki departed for France on Sunday eager to help new club Grenoble win promotion to the French top flight during his stint on loan from Oita Trinita.

"I want to become a regular in the side and help Grenoble get into the first division," said Umesaki, who is being loaned out by his J. League club until the end of June.

Umesaki, 19, who made his debut for the national team in last September's 1-0 win away to Yemen in Asian Cup qualifying, is the second Japanese teenager to join Grenoble in recent weeks. Striker Sho Ito, 18, turned down offers from a host of J. League clubs and agreed to join Grenoble last month.
