The Orix Buffaloes said Friday they have acquired the services of right-hander Lance Carter, outfielder Chad Allen and infielder Greg LaRocca, who played for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows in the Central League last season.
Carter went 0-1 with an 8.49 ERA in 10 games with the Los Angeles Dodgers last season and is 13-12 with a 4.15 ERA in 181 major league games.
Allen, who played for the Texas Rangers in 2005, has 14 homers with a .269 batting average in 267 major league games. Last season, LaRocca hit 18 homers but was limited to 103 games with Yakult.
Orix, which plans to bring in one more foreign player in the outfield, also said it has re-signed right-hander Tom Davey and lefty Dan Serafini.
