Texas Rangers right-hander Akinori Otsuka and St. Louis Cardinals outfielder So Taguchi both filed for salary arbitration before the Friday midnight deadline.
The teams and players will submit their proposed salary figures on Tuesday, with major-league arbitration hearings to start Feb. 1.
