Twins phenoms Joji and Kosuke Takeuchi, both of whom played for Japan at last year's FIBA World Championship, faced each other in the quarterfinals of the National Championships and Joji's Tokai University capitalized on its all-court zone press and defeated Kosuke's Keio University 97-82 at Yoyogi National Gymnasium on Friday.
Kosuke, however, won the family scoring contest 32-12. Kosuke had 22 rebounds, while Joji grabbed 20.
In other games, the Aisin Sea Horses beat the defending tournament champion Toshiba Brave Thunders 66-61, the OSG Phoenix routed the Mitsubishi Electrics Melco Dolphins 84-65 and the Toyota Alvark sank the Panasonic Super Kangaroos 97-81.
