Yomiuri Giants right-hander Koji Uehara put pen to paper Tuesday, re-signing a contract with the Central League club for an estimated annual salary of 310 million yen, a 30 million yen pay cut from last season.

Uehara said the pay cut was justified after his team's lackluster performance and his missing out on double-digit wins for the second year in a row with an 8-9 record.
