Fukuoka Softbank Hawks right-hander Nagisa Arakaki re-signed with the Pacific League club for an estimated 120 million yen in annual salary on Saturday, up 20 million yen from last season. Arakaki won a career-high 13 games against five losses with a 3.01 ERA in 23 starts this past season but missed the entire month of June with a right thigh injury.

Elsewhere, Chiba Lotte Marines right-hander Shunsuke Watanabe took a 30-million yen pay cut when he re-signed with the PL club for an estimated 10 million yen in annual salary.

Watanabe went 5-11 with a 4.35 ERA in 23 starts this year after posting 15 wins (four losses) and a 2.17 ERA -- both career bests -- in 2005.
