YOKOHAMA -- Mohamed Aboutrika scored twice as Al Ahly beat Club America 2-1 in the early game Sunday to secure third place at the Club World Cup.

The Egyptians improved on their last-place finish in the 2005 tournament and Aboutrika moved to the top of the scorers' chart in the tournament with three goals in as many games.

Aboutrika curled a stunning free-kick into the top corner from 25 meters to open the scoring three minutes before halftime.

Cuauhtemoc Blanco crossed for Salvador Cabanas to pull America level with a bullet header on 59 minutes.

Aboutrika rolled in his second after a clever one-two with Brazilian Flavio on 79 minutes to give the African champion the victory.

Al Ahly was beaten 2-1 by Brazil's Internacional in their semifinal on Wednesday. It beat New Zealand amateur side Auckland City 2-0 in the opening match of the tourney.

Club America was routed 4-0 by European giant Barcelona in Thursday's semis.
