A Tokyo Apache official told The Japan Times on Thursday that AND1 Mix Tape team player Tony "Go Get it" Jones will join the bj-league side.
The official said the league is going to announce the signing of Jones on Friday. Jones, a Chicago native, is a 201-cm forward and is expected to fill the hole left by Nick Billings, who was released from the team early last month.
In the past, Jones has been invited to NBA training camps, including ones for the Washignton Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies. Jones will reunite with John "Helicopter" Humphrey, a former AND1 player, at Tokyo.
Jones is known for his exceptional leaping ability and has entertained AND1 ball fans with spectacular dunks. He is expected to start this weekend's games against the Osaka Evessa in Moriguchi, Osaka Prefecture.
