The bj-league announced the dates and sites for upcoming player tryouts on Tuesday.
The first stage of the tryouts will be held at NKS-405 in Yao, Osaka Prefecture on Dec. 11, at Higashi-Hirao Park in Fukuoka on Dec. 25, and Funabashi Athletic Park Gymnasium on Jan. 8.
Players who pass the first tryouts and recommended players will be able to attend the second stage of the tryouts, which will be held at Tokyo Sports Culture and Sports Center (BumB) on Jan 22.
The final stage of the tryout is slated for early May.
The second-stage participants will be eligible to sign with a bj-league club and play starting in February.
These contracts, however, will be temporary and expire at the end of the season.
Each of these signed players become free agents after the season, and they join the pool of players for May's league draft.
