Hiroyuki Fujita and Wayne Perske shot 5-under-par 65s to share the lead after the first round of the season-ending Nippon Series JT Cup on Thursday.
Fujita, a five-time winner on the Japanese tour who last won at the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup in May 2005, made three birdies in each half against a sole bogey to lead the field of 28 players, including the top 25 on the money list and this year's tour event winners.
