Japan's first professional basketball league keeps growing. Next season, 10 bj-league teams will compete. The league's 10th franchise, the Fukuoka BB Boys, was revealed on Thursday. Earlier this fall, the league announced a to-be-named team will also begin play in 2007 in Okinawa.
Fukuoka already has a thriving pro sports market, which includes the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks baseball team and Avispa Fukuoka of the J. League. The franchise has yet to decide where it will play its bj-league home games next season.
The second-year league, which fielded six teams in 2005-06, added two expansion teams this season: the Takamatsu Five Arrows and the Toyama Grouses.
