Five players each from the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters and the Chunichi Dragons, who squared off for the Japan Series title this year, won Golden Glove awards Wednesday along with major league-bound Seibu Lions ace Daisuke Matsuzaka.

Tsuyoshi Shinjo, Hichori Morimoto and Atsunori Inaba were named among the Pacific League winners of the honor, as Nippon Ham swept the outfield while producing two winners in the infield -- Michihiro Ogasawara and Kensuke Tanaka -- for a club-record total of five.

Shinjo, who retired after Nippon Ham claimed the Japan Series title last month, won his third straight Golden Glove with the Fighters in addition to the seven he had received with the Hanshin Tigers.

Matsuzaka was named the best fielding pitcher for a league-record seventh time.

In the Central League, right-hander Kenshin Kawakami and battery mate Motonobu Tanishige each won their second Golden Glove.

Chunichi teammates Masahiro Araki and Hirokazu Ibata won for the third time at second base and shortstop, respectively. Outfielder Kosuke Fukudome received 174 votes.
