Orix Buffaloes outfielder Yoshitomo Tani will be dealt to the Yomiuri Giants in a 1-for-2 trade for right-hander Takashi Kamoshida and infielder Masahiro Nagata, officials of both teams said Tuesday.
It appears to be a perfect match for Yomiuri, which was in the market for a proven right-handed batter, and Orix, which envisions a bright future for the two 22-year-old prospects.
"I readily accepted the news after hearing the report," Tani said at a news conference in Kobe. "I appreciate that Orix allowed me to grow as a player over the past 10 years. I feel grateful," he said.
