Barcelona will play Central American champions Club America of Mexico or the eventual winners of the Asian Champions League in the semifinals of this year's FIFA World Club Cup following Thursday's draw in Tokyo.
The European champions and South American Libertadores Cup winners Internacional of Brazil have both been given byes into the semifinals of the six-team tournament kicking off Dec. 10.
Internacional will face the winner of the opening game at Toyota Stadium between Oceania representatives Auckland City FC and whoever takes continental honors in Africa on Dec. 13 with Barcelona's semifinal the following day in Yokohama.
The final will also be held in Yokohama at Nissan Stadium on Dec. 17. FIFA held the inaugural Club World Championship in 2000 in Brazil. (Kyodo News)
