Tomoaki Kanemoto hit a two-run homer and Naohisa Sugiyama threw 6 2/3 shutout innings as the Hanshin Tigers beat the Hiroshima Carp 6-0 to extend their season-best winning streak to eight games.

Kanemoto sent a 1-1 fastball from former teammate Shinji Sasaoka (7-8) into the seats in right-center, giving Hanshin a 2-0 lead at Koshien Stadium.

Lin Wei-tze ignited a four-run seventh with a pinch-hit RBI single and scored from third on a throwing error by Yoshiyuki Ishihara as the Carp catcher tried to throw out Norihiro Akahoshi stealing second.

Sugiyama (4-4) allowed five hits, all singles, struck out five, walked one, and hit a batter with a pitch.

Swallows 6, Giants 0

At Tokyo's Jingu Stadium, Akinori Iwamura and Alex Ramirez homered to help Kazuhisa Ishii reach double-digit wins for Yakult.

The Swallows built a 5-0 lead on Iwamura's three-run homer in the first inning and a two-run shot by Ramirez in the third, both off Koji Uehara (7-9), who gave up six runs and eight hits in four innings.

Ishii (10-6) held Yomiuri to four hits with a walk and 10 strikeouts in seven innings. Relievers Masao Kida and Masato Hanada completed a five-hit shutout.
