We mentioned here last week that major league scouts visiting Japan think Chunichi Dragons outfielder Kosuke Fukudome is the best Japanese position player in the Central or Pacific Leagues, but who is the best pitcher?

The scouts, mostly gone now, were here to see Seibu Lions right-hander Daisuke Matsuzaka (likely to be posted for MLB service during the coming offseason) and Hiroshima Carp righty Hiroki Kuroda (a free agent).

Matsuzaka, the "Boy Wonder," chalked up his 17th victory of the season on Sept. 19, a 6-2 win over the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks at Invoice Seibu Dome.
